We have met some of the most amazing families over the years, and it has been such a gift to serve so many of our wedding couples following their big day. It was at their surprise proposal in Minneapolis that we first connected with Allie and Dan, and we had so much fun capturing the sweet emotions of that moment that we couldn’t wait until their wedding day! The following year, the two were married at the Minneapolis Event Center, and we completely fell in love with their family and friends.
When Allie reached out to book a portrait session as a birthday gift for her mom, we were beyond excited to connect with them again! She and her sister Nicki had both added sweet little girls to their families, and we couldn’t wait to capture their session in one of their favorite spots: Clifton E. French Regional Park in Plymouth. We discovered that this park was where Allie’s parents spent time together 35 years ago which made the location all the more significant. Not only do we love photographing families in beautiful places, but when the setting holds a special place in their hearts, it truly makes it a joy to document!
The evening of their session presented a dense fog of smoke in the air caused by wildfires to the north, and yet, we absolutely loved the result with the soft, muted light! We began the session within the trees before heading out to the beach for photos beside the lake. Everyone looked amazing with their natural tones of blues and greens which worked perfectly within the setting. We ended with portraits among the flowers, and the girls’ reactions could not have been more adorable! They are the cutest little cousins ever, and we are so excited for their friendship to grow over the years to come!
