When Twin Cities native, Kari, began dating Drake, from upstate New York, it didn’t take long for both to fall in love and realize they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together!  We love hearing stories of couples who met online, and getting to know these two has been so much fun!  We booked their engagement session at one of our favorite places: the Hansen Tree Farm in Anoka.  It couldn’t have been a more beautiful day!  A fresh coat of snow had recently fallen and the textured backdrops of the pine trees and the rustic buildings were the perfect setting for their winter engagement photos!

These two looked amazing and kicked off the session with their classy black coats and Kari’s bright red hat!  We loved the pop of color that it brought to the green and white backdrops.  One of the best things about winter sessions is that you are able to layer outfits and simply remove an outer jacket to create a third look for your session!  Drake’s shirt and vest worked perfectly with the setting and it added in some great variety.  They changed into their second outfit and both looked incredible with Drake in his formal suit and Kari in her gorgeous burgundy dress.  Her earrings were the perfect touch to complete their more elegant look! 

We laughed and chatted throughout their session and Drake confirmed that “Minnesota-Nice” is definitely a thing!  Kari’s kind personality was probably what first drew him in! Kari is a CPA and definitely detail-oriented and organized!  She is totally on top of her wedding plans and we know their day will be absolutely incredible!  They are getting married at the Grand 1858 space at the Minneapolis Event Center this fall and we can’t wait to capture their big day!
