The Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel is such a stunning wedding venue. Formally a train depot, the Great Hall is as grand as it is elegant. It truly was the perfect setting for Amanda and Doug’s timeless, classic wedding on one of the most beautiful fall days of the year. Every single detail of the day was incredible. Amanda’s hair and makeup by Trista was gorgeous and her gown from the Wedding Shoppe was absolutely stunning! With the wind blowing through her veil, she walked up the steps of the government building to where Doug stood awaiting his high-school sweetheart and love of his life. He turned to see his beautiful bride and they embraced as he swept her off her feet. These two are the sweetest couple and the day was off to a perfect start!
We headed over to Boom Island Park where the leaves were in full, vibrant color. Doug and Amanda led their wedding party across the old steel bridge and with the sun streaming behind them, they talked and laughed together. The bridesmaids in their dresses from David’s Bridal looked incredible with their gorgeous bouquets by Festivities. The wedding party was a BLAST to hang out with! The guys were hilarious and we had so much fun taking photos together. We returned to The Depot for family portraits just before the ceremony in the Winter Garden room began.
Following the beautiful ceremony, guests mingled outdoors by the fire and then kicked off the reception with the bride and groom’s first dance. Dinner, speeches, and dancing with Midwest Sound followed and we ended the night by stepping out for a few portraits under the stars. Standing under a vintage lamp post, Amanda and Doug took a moment to truly soak in their wedding day. It is such an incredible honor to be able to capture the love between newlyweds and to freeze moments like these in time!
