Interstate State Park | Fall Engagement

Interstate State Park in Taylors Falls is stunning in any season but the fall colors seem to take things to a whole new level.  The texture of the rocks with the brightly colored leaves and the stunning views of the St. Croix River make for an epic location for engagement photos.  When Sara and Jack decided on Taylors Falls for their engagement session we were so excited!  As the day approached, we dodged a bit of rainy weather by bumping their session up by a day to take full advantage of the sunshine.  The leaves were perfect and we couldn’t wait to get started!

These two are seriously the sweetest, happiest couple ever and their joy-filled laughter made this session a blast!  Not only were they all smiles throughout the session, but their adorable puppy flashed some sweet smiles as well!  He was filled with energy and beyond excited to be exploring the great outdoors with us.  All it took was one small squeak of our pet-toy fox and he would perk his ears up with an adorable grin on his face.  That little squeaky toy is our secret weapon when it comes to taking great photos of pets – sometimes it even works on people! 😉

We strolled along the river’s edge finding all the epic colors.  The sun sets quickly down in the valley and we were able to squeeze out the last few minutes of autumn sun along the rocks.  We loved the way the colors of the river and the trees worked perfectly with Sara and Jack’s browns, golds, and blues in their outfits.  They looked amazing!  We can’t wait to photograph their wedding next summer at the beautiful Semple Mansion.  It is one of our favorite venues and will be the perfect setting for their big day!
