There is something absolutely magical about photographing family sessions in the summer! The late golden evenings and vibrant green backdrops create a gorgeous setting for photos, and we are here for it! To us, photographing portraits is so much more than simply capturing beautiful images, it’s also about documenting genuine connections and the fleeting moments that make each season so special.  These sessions are a reminder of how sweet these seasons of life really are. It’s not just about the posed smiles, but all about documenting relationships as they grow!

This session was especially meaningful to us because we’ve had the privilege of capturing Abby and Adam’s story through so many milestones over the years! From their engagement, to their wedding, to their first family photos, and even a destination session in Florida, it has been such an honor to share in their journey! Now, celebrating the addition of their adorable son—and having Adam’s extended family join us—made this a session truly such a joy!

We met at Riley Lake Park on a gorgeous summer evening, and set off to explore the field for portraits.  It was so much fun to connect with this group again, and the neutral tones of their outfits blended beautifully, giving the photos a classic, timeless feel that worked perfectly with the setting.  As the sun dipped behind the trees, the girls’ laughter and energy was so much fun to capture. They twirled, ran, and danced together – moments that remind us why we love photographing sessions in wide open natural spaces.  The evening ended with a mix of joyful play and heartfelt connection as Abby jumped in for tickles, creating some of the sweetest candids of the night!  It was the perfect reminder that these are the memories worth preserving – authentic, fleeting, and filled with love!
