We first discovered Lighthouse Beach on Sanibel Island a year ago.  Friends had recommended it to us when they knew we were planning on exploring the island from top to bottom, scouting its beaches for the perfect backdrop for our portrait sessions.  From the moment we arrived in the parking lot, we immediately fell in love.  Not only is their ample parking available (becoming more and more important to us as the busy season begins), but the walk to the water’s edge is just steps away.  The sand is sugar-white, and palm trees line the beach.  The island’s iconic lighthouse stands tall at the southernmost tip, and just below it, there are tranquil little pockets of palm trees and greens providing the perfect setting for Tara’s family session. 

Tara had reached out to book her family session months ago.  Being from New Jersey, she, like us, were looking forward to spending some time in the sunshine state and away from the freezing temperatures of January in the North.  We could not have been more honored when she shared that the session was to be a birthday gift for her mom!  Documenting milestones, whether they are birthdays, engagements, new babies, or anniversaries, is always such a privilege for us!  We love meeting families from all over the states who are looking forward to documenting their family photos while vacationing in Southwest Florida.

Tara’s family is absolutely beautiful, and their session could not have been more incredible!  The soft, even light was ideal, and made it a breeze to take photos out along the sand.  Tara’s sweet baby boy was as adorable as they come, and he did an amazing job smiling for photos!  We, also, ended the session all-smiles in knowing we truly do have the best job in the world!
