It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly six years since we first met Jane and Gavin for their engagement session in Taylors Falls.  They were the sweetest couple ever, and we were so excited to capture their resort wedding the following fall.  We had the best time celebrating with their families, and when Jane reached out to book a destination portrait session in Florida, we were thrilled!  They were vacationing on Sanibel Island with Jane’s parents, and it was so much fun to meet their two year old son!

There is something incredibly special about photographing couples we’ve had the privilege of documenting multiple seasons of life for.  Capturing their family as they vacationed together made it even more meaningful.  We met for their session at Lighthouse Beach, and the light could not have been more gorgeous.  Golden hour faded into the most beautiful shades of pastel tones, and toward the end of the evening, a dense fog began to roll in that made the entire beach feel magical.

Jane and Gavin’s son was an absolute delight to photograph as he explored.  There is something amazing about the beach when you are two.  Everything feels larger than life with the waves gently rolling in, the sand between tiny toes, and the birds flying overhead.  He was completely captivated by it all. Not only were there boats passing by, but dolphins were even playing close to shore!  Beyond all of that, our highlight was photographing him as he laughed and snuggled with his grandparents.  Capturing the bond between generations is truly such a gift.  This sweet family was an absolute joy to serve once again, and we are so honored to be chosen to document this season of life for them.  Moments like these are why we love what we do!
