Interstate State Park, Minnesota | Fall Engagement

Jane and Gavin are such a sweet couple!  They love spending time hiking, fishing, and exploring the great outdoors together.  Naturally, they chose Taylors Falls, one of our favorite outdoor locations, for their fall engagement session.  Fall is such a beautiful season for engagement photos and Taylors Falls looks all the more epic with the beautiful colors of the changing leaves.

Their session began with Jane and Gavin’s Golden Retriever puppy, Walt, as we explored the woods and trails together.  Walt was looking dapper in his red flannel bandana and was so much fun to capture with his sweet eyes and spunky puppy personality.  We continued down to the river’s edge, while taking in the brisk fall air and colors, as we talked about their story.  After meeting and chatting online, Gavin asked Jane to meet up at the Williams Pub in Uptown.  It didn’t take long for the two to find out they had a lot in common.  Both are the only child in their families, and while their careers in software engineering and medical device sales keep them indoors, both love to relax and explore the outdoors.  They also both love dogs, and Walt is the perfect pup for them!

Walt was actually in on Gavin’s proposal plan as well.  Gavin planned a last minute trip up north and made a customized dog tag for Walt with the words “Will you marry me?” engraved into it.  How could Jane resist?! Of course, she said yes and the wedding planning began.  Both knew they wanted to get married at a resort that their family and friends could enjoy for the whole weekend, and the Bug Bee Hive Resort in Paynesville was the perfect place for a wedding weekend experience!  We are so excited for the fun to begin and can’t wait to capture their big day next fall!
