There’s something incredibly special about capturing family sessions, and when one of our all-time favorite families reached out to book a late-summer session, we were beyond excited to connect again! Having known Caleb’s family for years and photographing them through different seasons has been an absolute joy. Watching the boys grow up and their friendship develop has been so much fun! When we met in St. Paul for their very first session, we had no idea how many sweet memories we’d capture over the years. We were honored to photograph their family again when they added their second son, and again a few years later at Como Park. This time, we met at Muriel Sahlin Arboretum in Roseville, and the evening was nothing short of perfection. The vibrant green trees and soft golden glow was truly something out of a dream!
Caleb and Laura’s connection with their boys is incredibly sweet. Each of their smiles were contagious, and it was such a joy to document the boys’ playful bond as they ran, chased, and laughed together. Their competitive spirit also shone through as they raced around the park! We also loved the way they incorporated their love for baseball! From the boys’ uniforms, to their custom bats that Caleb made, their outfits were the perfect touch, and their colors popped beautifully against the greens of each backdrop.
Some of our favorite moments in portrait sessions are the unplanned ones—like the boys running, playing, and jumping, or their heart-melting expressions while posing with their bats. The spontaneous moments often make for the most authentic images, and capturing those fleeting moments is why we love what we do. We were beyond grateful to document this sweet family’s story by freezing these memories in time to be cherished for years to come!
