Summer in the St. Croix Valley is simply stunning.  There is something truly magical about Taylors Falls in this season, and we are all about capturing life’s most exciting milestones surrounded by one of Minnesota’s most beautiful settings.  When Allison and Trystan’s wedding planner and good friend reached out to see if we were available for their date, we were so honored to be a part of their big day!  We couldn’t wait to connect for their engagement session, and ended up with an absolutely gorgeous day for it.

Allison and Trystan are such a sweet couple, and had just returned from a cruise to Alaska!  They had the best time soaking up all of the epic sights with family, and flew into Minneapolis just in time for their engagement session.  Both looked amazing, and we loved their blue and white color scheme which was a perfect nod to the colors of their wedding day.  We captured a few shots of Allison’s gorgeous ring, which played a memorable part in Trystan’s proposal story!  While watching something on Trystan’s phone together, the jeweler sent a message that Allison’s ring was complete!  Despite lacking the element of surprise, Trystan popped the question, and of course Allison happily said yes!

It was so great getting to chat with these two as we explored the trails of the valley together.  We began with portraits in the forest and then headed out to the rock cliffs along the river’s edge.  We finished out the session with photos overlooking the St. Croix River, and we can’t wait to continue capturing their love story again at their wedding next summer!  They will host their family and friends at the beautiful Chankaska Creek Ranch & Winery in Kasota, and we have no doubt their day will be absolutely incredible!
