Sanibel Island’s Lighthouse Beach is one of our all-time favorite places to photograph family portrait sessions. Its quiet, tranquil waters and sugar-white sand provide the perfect setting for photos, and we love how the textures of the green trees, grasses and driftwood create the most beautiful backdrops with its ever-changing landscape. After having taken last year off to let the island recover from Hurricane Ian, we were beyond excited to return for a new season of sessions!
When Jennie reached out to book a session after she had received our name from a mutual friend, we couldn’t wait to meet her family! Her kind words were such an encouragement to us, and we were so thankful for the referral. The evening of their session had finally arrived, and from the moment we met it was clear that not only are they one of the nicest, most genuine, and beautiful families you will ever meet, but their love for each other absolutely radiated through their gorgeous smiles the entire evening. Every single one of the kids did a phenomenal job for photos – especially considering the chili temps and brisk winter winds coming off of the water. Their bond as siblings was incredible, and their friendship and laughter was an absolute joy to capture!
We finished out their session with a few photos with the island’s still-standing historic lighthouse, as well as with the driftwood along the sand. Documenting this season of life for Jennie’s family was truly such an honor, and we hope that these images are some that they will cherish for many years to come. We are so excited for them to continue enjoying their time together in Southwest Florida before returning to Texas, and we are so grateful to have been able to connect with their sweet family!
