Lighthouse Beach Park on Sanibel Island is one of the most beautiful nature preserves in Florida and has been absolutely perfect for photographing family portrait sessions!  While the island itself is only 12 miles long and about 3 miles wide, it features a wide variety of beaches from its top to its southernmost point.  Among both its smaller beaches including Blind Pass, Silver Key, and Tarpon Bay, and its larger beaches such as Bowman’s Beach and Lighthouse Beach, you will find breathtaking scenery, sugar-white sand, and some of the best shelling around.  It’s no wonder that families travel from all over the world to vacation here!

Jody and her family travelled all the way from Canada to enjoy their time together in sunny Southwest Florida!  She and her sister, along with each of their kids, were vacationing along with their parents.  We had such a great time exploring the island together and capturing portraits among the trees and along the beach.  The kids had so much fun as they ran through the nature trails and out along the sand finding seashells and treasures along the water’s edge.  These sweet cousins are 6, 5, 3, and 2 years old and are absolutely adorable!  

We have heard it said that cousins are your first childhood playmates who grow up to be forever friends; and we could not agree more!  We hope that these kids grow up to be the best of friends, and that their families will look back on these images with the fondest of memories.  It has been such an honor to photograph families as they spend time enjoying the beaches of SW Florida.  Being able to document the short season of life with young children is always such a joy as we know that these years are very short!
