Sanibel Island, Florida is at the top of our list when we recommend places for families to visit.  Not only is it a gorgeous location to enjoy a day at the beach, but it is absolutely perfect for photographing family sessions!  As our busy season picks up down here in Southwest Florida, and the beaches become more and more busy, we are always amazed at how quiet the beach is during the earliest hours of the morning.  We arrived on the island just before sunrise and began to explore as the first rays of light appeared at the horizon.  The lighthouse was still shining, and the quietness of the water lapping on the sand was peaceful and calm.  It was another breathtaking day in paradise!

Val and her husband arrived along with their son, daughter, and adorable little puppy!  This beautiful family was so kind and classy and had travelled from all over the U.S.  From the coast of Los Angeles, California, to the coast of Boston, Massachusetts, and from Minnesota in the middle, they had gathered to enjoy time together in Florida; and we were so honored to book a sunrise family session for them! We began their session along the beach and moved into the palm trees near the historic lighthouse.  We finished out their session with a few drone shots of the island, as well as some sweet puppy photos!

We had such a wonderful time strolling along the beach, and chatting about our Minnesota roots as well as their family business.  We will have to make a point of visiting them at the Minnesota State Fair this coming summer!  For now, we hope that they are soaking up all of the summer weather in the winter as they enjoy their family time in the sunshine state!
