Megan reached out last fall to book her family’s portrait session on Captiva Island.  Being from Iowa and Michigan, she and her husband’s family love spending time together in Southwest Florida during the cold winter months.  It has been so much fun to connect with Megan and hear about some of her favorite places on the island.  Not only does she share our love for Captiva’s pristine beaches, but she is also a fan of the Bubble Room’s famous delicious cake!  We were so excited to document this family on the island that holds so many sweet memories.  Being that they are also members at the incredible South Seas Island Resort, we knew it would be the perfect location to capture their family photos.  

We met at the resort on one of the most beautiful evenings yet!  We soaked up every second of golden hour as we explored the resort’s breathtaking grounds and took photos among the palms and trees.  This family is amazing, and we had such a great time chatting about their northern roots and their family’s history with the island.  These adorable baby cousins were all-smiles as we stopped for a few photos by the docks.  We then headed out to the beach for some photos by the waters edge.

The sun began to set and as we finished up the session, the waves were calm, and it was so sweet to watch the babies smiling away as we walked along the sand.  They did an incredible job for this session, especially at only seven and ten months old!  They are absolutely adored by both their parents and their grandparents!  We hope that these photos are a treasure to them as they watch their little ones grow up together and that they enjoy many more years of making memories at Captiva Beach!
