Forest Lake | Fall Senior Portrait Session

Senior year of high school is such an amazing year to celebrate.  There are countless moments of experiencing both “lasts” and “firsts” throughout the year.  For many, it is a time of celebrating achievement, both academic and athletic, as well as anticipating the road ahead.  It’s a time like no other where the future seems to be arriving faster than ever, and it is such an honor to be able to document this short but sweet season of life.

Connor is a man of many talents, with an amazing smile and a heart of gold.  We had a blast capturing his personality and so much of what he loves.  He and his family have been amazing to work with and this location, along with Connor’s outfits and colors, couldn’t have been more perfect!  Forest Lake is one of our favorite locations to use for portraits.  With its variety in backdrops for both a natural and industrial look, and the opportunity to incorporate the ball fields to showcase different sports, it is ideal for photographing Senior Portrait sessions.

We are often asked our advice on outfits for portrait sessions, and for colors, we recommend neutrals and soft, warm tones that complement the setting. When selecting outfits, we recommend choosing a variety while keeping in mind to avoid anything too flashy or distracting with strong prints.  That said, for senior portraits we also recommend bringing elements that showcase their interests.  For example, a baseball or football jersey is the perfect piece to document this season of life.  The talents and achievements of a senior in high school are a huge part of their lives, and we love featuring those aspects of who they are.  Our hope is that as they look back on their photos over the years and remember high school as one of their favorite seasons of life!
