More and more couples, these days, are choosing to plan a smaller wedding, and we have completely fallen in love with these sweet and intimate events!  When Kelsi and Greg asked us to photograph their wedding at the fabulous Luminary in Brainerd, we were beyond excited!  We love photographing weddings in the Brainerd Lakes area and can’t wait for their big day next summer!

We’ve loved getting to know Kelsi and Greg, and learned that they are both teachers who met in Oregon through their Masters program.  With our own background in education, we chatted about the beauty of summer break and how nice it is to have the flexibility for a summer engagement session and wedding planning.  Kelsi requested the Loring Social area for their engagement session which is one of our favorite places with its wide variety of brick backdrops.  Despite a bit of rain in the forecast, we met for their session on what turned out to be a gorgeous summer evening!  We began the session with light clouds and the rain came down as they were changing into their second outfit. We waited it out for a bit and the sun came out just as we headed to the Basilica of St. Mary‘s steps.  We love the change that multiple outfits and switching up locations provides, but adding a change in weather to the session added a whole new level of variety!

Kelsi and Greg are the sweetest couple and we’ve loved hearing their story! They went shopping together to choose the perfect engagement ring – another thing we share in common.  Believe it or not, we went ring shopping on one of our very first dates!  Because when you’ve found “the one”, you just know!  We are seriously so happy for these two and are so excited for their wedding!
