When perfect summer weather on the lake, meets golden hour light streaming through sailboat sails, we are pretty much in heaven.  Throw in the sweetest couple, along with their adorable pup, and you have a recipe for one incredible engagement session!  From the moment that we booked their wedding, we could not wait to meet Carolyn and Chris.  It was on one of the most beautiful summer evenings yet, when we met at the Bde Maka Ska lakeside.  

We began their session and chatted about how they met, fell in love, and are now planning a wedding amidst a very unique and challenging season.  The two met in college and now live in Chicago.  Chris actually grew up near Bde Maka Ska Park!  He just finished up law school and he and Carolyn, with her heart of gold and care for people as a physical therapist, are the perfect match for each other!  Carolyn grew up out East and now has family in Florida.  We were so excited to incorporate their love of going on walks together along the water’s edge and surrounded by sailboats, bringing a piece of the coast right into the heart of Minnesota.

Strolling through the park with Chris and Carolyn’s Golden Retriever, Moose was so much fun!  He did such a great job and we adored his photos on the beach with his blue and white striped bandana!  Carolyn and Chris looked amazing and their outfits worked perfectly with the nautical theme among the sailboats and the mural we discovered.  Following an incredible golden hour, the sun set leaving us with the most beautiful soft pink light to end the evening.  We finished up photos with a few on the lake and are now beyond excited to continue the fun at the incredible Hutton House next summer!  Their big day will be coordinated by Rachelle from Style Architects and we know that every detail will be nothing short of perfection!
