It is safe to say that this year has been filled with its fair share of challenges.  Even so, we can’t help but smile when our couples choose to take life’s lemons and make lemonade!  We have known Kim for years after meeting her as a bridesmaid in her friend’s wedding.  Her bubbly and fun-loving spirit is contagious and Ryan’s kind and supportive personality is a perfect match!  When their wedding was postponed, the two decided to book an elopement-style session to capture their intimate vow ceremony!

As we watched Minneapolis’ weather, we reached out to Kim and Ryan to see if they wanted to reschedule their session to avoid the thunderstorms in the forecast.  After debating about yet another change, the two decided to make the most of it and stick with their original plan, making for one of the most adventurous sessions we’ve ever captured!  We had SO much fun together and as the evening went on, Kim and Ryan threw caution to the wind and had a blast dancing and exploring the city in the pouring rain!

Kim and Ryan are such a beautiful couple and both looked amazing in their wedding attire!  Kim’s stunning gown by Chic Nostalgia from Finery Bridal was perfect and her gorgeous bouquet by Pristine Floral was breathtaking.  Her hair and makeup by Janell Steinwand and Sara Wilhelm were flawless! Ryan also looked amazing in his suit from Knights Menswear. Following their sweet first look, we kicked off portraits under the overpass including a few with their adorable puppy.  They had planned ahead and brought along two perfect umbrellas, an American flag, and champagne to celebrate after sharing their beautiful vows with each other!  We ended their session with a romantic stroll down the street and Kim and Ryan laughed, danced, and kissed as the rain poured down.  We can’t wait to continue the adventure with them at the incredible Lutsen Resort next summer!
