They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder. This certainly seems to be true for Gretchen and Greg who had a long distance relationship for years! While Gretchen was in grad school in Milwaukee and Greg was working in Minneapolis, the two fell in love over many weekends spent together in the city. It’s safe to say that they love Minneapolis just as much as we do and we are so glad that they chose St. Anthony Main for their engagement session. There is something so special about capturing the short but sweet season of being engaged in the very place you have shared so many memories together!
After meeting at Aster Cafe, we started the session out with a few shots of the skyline and the Stone Arch Bridge. There is something serene about this place along the river that is incredibly romantic in any season. We strolled along St. Anthony Main stopping along the way to catch a few shots with the changing leaves before heading down to the river’s waterfall.
We are completely in love with the colors of this session. Gretchen’s brown coat was amazing and coordinated perfectly with her boots and the muted colors of their blanket. She and Greg looked incredible together with Greg’s grey and black neutrals among both the leaves of the natural backdrops and the neutral bricks. These two are such a stunning couple and are hilarious together! We laughed throughout the entire session and had a blast getting to know each other as we explored!
Not only were we able to feature the city of Minneapolis in their engagement photos, but we are beyond excited to photograph their wedding at the incredible Nicollet Island Pavilion next fall! We can’t wait for the fun to continue on their wedding day!
