Historic Fort Snelling in Minneapolis was the PERFECT location for Abby and Matt’s snowy engagement session! We absolutely love it when couples incorporate places of significance for their engagement sessions and the fact that Matt proposed to Abby just a short distance from where we did their photos, was so special! Not only are the grounds beautiful and perfect for natural portraits, but the architecture made for some romantic, castle-like backdrops as well! This National Historic Landmark is located at the junction of the Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers and the grounds are amazing for photos! We also love the history of this location! The deep cultural, military, and social history and the stories of the military fort and its surrounding area are fascinating and we will have to take a trip back to explore and learn more!
We could not get over how beautiful the day turned out to be and working with the sweetest couple ever made this session so. much. fun!!! You would never know it, but these two ROCKED this session in only 8-degree weather (-15 with the wind chill!) We definitely work with the best couples in the world who don’t mind braving low temps to get some gorgeous, snowy shots! The sun glistening on the snow and the bright blue sky were the perfect backdrop for Abby and Matt’s outfits! We loved how the red and gold colors popped against the white snow and blue sky! Also, there is just something about snow that begs for a gorgeous red dress and Abby totally rocked it!
Even though Minnesota weather is a bit unpredictable, we are pretty sure their late September wedding day will be much warmer and we can’t wait to work with them again at FIVE Event Center! We are beyond excited for their wedding day!!!
