We love getting to know our couples and their stories! Steph and James officially met in high school, but didn’t become friends until college. James proposed to Steph on a hiking trip in the beautiful Glacier National Park in Montana. Their wedding venue, the Barn at Five Lakes Resort, boasts it’s own natural beauty right here in Minnesota! The fields draped in golden hour light, the tall pines surrounding the resort, the lake glistening in the sunlight – it is all incredibly breathtaking and the perfect venue for a rustic barn wedding! The resort is run by an amazing team who are incredible to work with!
We began the day in Cabin #8 as the girls got ready. Tracy from Captivating Beauty was so kind and did a great job on hair and makeup! One of our favorite details was Steph’s dress from A & Be Bridal by Rue de Seine. It was absolutely stunning! We loved the modern bohemian detail of the bodice and the way the dress flowed throughout the day! We also loved her champagne bridesmaid dresses from Show Me Your Mumu. They paired perfectly with the girls’ white bouquets! Genevieve Wilson did amazing job on the flowers!
Steph and James’ first look was nothing short of epic. Amidst the tall pines we began their portraits and the romance continued throughout the ceremony beneath the trees. The reception began and the barn was gorgeous! The detail of every element was classic and simply beautiful! Central Market from Detroit Lakes created the cake and cupcakes and the food was almost too beautiful to eat! We snuck away for some incredible golden-hour photos and headed back just in time for speeches and dancing put on by Harmon Entertainment. We ended the night with an epic sparkler exit and a whole lot of images that completely blew us away! Steph and James, we hope your honeymoon in Costa Rica was every bit as beautiful as your stunning wedding day!
