Forest Lake has become one of our favorite locations to use for Senior Portrait Sessions! We love the variety in backdrops and the endless possibilities for both a natural and industrial look as well as the ability to incorporate different sports using the ball fields! Teagan is an incredibly athlete and we loved using the soccer field to capture his love for soccer! We also grabbed a few shots featuring another of his favorite sports – skiing!
Teagan’s session was one of our favorites for so many reasons! He came totally prepared and we loved the variety of his clothing and props! For senior sessions, we photograph a variety of compositions, from closeups to full body, so we recommend bringing a variety of outfits with shoes and accessories. Jackets or layers add dimension and variety as well. When you are choosing colors, go with colors that compliment your skin tone and bring out the color of your eyes. We also love to incorporate the things that make each Senior unique so feel free to bring along props!
When preparing for your session, we recommend gathering and washing/cleaning all props such as cleats or soccer balls, musical instruments, etc. We also recommend staying hydrated and getting plenty of rest – this keeps skin and eyes bright! For guys, we recommend using chapstick to avoid dry, cracked lips. Be sure to eat before your session so that you are not hungry and bring along a water bottle or a snack if you’d like!
The number one thing we recommend when preparing for a Senior Portrait Session is to remember to relax and have fun! Senior year is a celebration of years of hard work and we are so honored to be able to capture Seniors as they look forward to what their future holds for each of them!
