Willow trees are a favorite of ours and were absolutely perfect for Dakotah’s early morning Senior Portrait Session! Dakotah is amazing – her gorgeous smile and fun personality made for an incredible session! She was a complete natural and her two-hour session flew by in no time at all! Time really does fly when you are having fun!
We often get asked about recommendations on what to wear for a Senior Portrait Session. One option is to bring several outfits along so that we are able to choose which to use based upon our backdrops. We recommend hanging or rolling outfits together so that you are able to change quickly. Don’t forget shoes and accessories to go with each outfit! Keep small items such as jewelry and accessories in a plastic bag so that they stay with each outfit. If you want to wear heels, you can also bring sandals or comfortable walking shoes for walking in-between locations. Another tip is to use a rolling suitcase to bring outfits along throughout the session. Wearing a tank top under your shirts allows for a quick “outfit” change that can be done anywhere. Ultimately, we recommend keeping all outfits in line with your personality and style!
If you choose to get your hair and makeup done professionally, we recommend that you ask your makeup artist to compliment your natural look so that we are able to capture the true “you” on camera! Don’t forget details such as your eyebrows and your nails – closeup shots show details and chipped nail polish can be distracting. If you aren’t getting your hair and makeup done professionally, we recommend that you give yourself plenty of time to get ready and bring makeup such as powder and lipstick along for touch-ups if needed. Most importantly, come ready to have some fun! Senior Portrait sessions are a blast!
