Andover | Senior Portrait Session

We love using natural backdrops for senior portrait sessions!  There is something about tall trees, fields of flowers, and weeping willows that are just absolutely breathtaking – especially in the summer time.  This setting was a perfect complement to Taylor’s natural beauty.  Her gorgeous smile and sweet personality were so much fun to capture!  We’ve actually known Taylor for years and we were so thankful that she traveled all the way from Iowa for her Senior Portrait session!  The light on the evening of her session was a dream and we loved ending with a few golden-hour photos in the fields.

Recently, we were asked to describe the senior session experience.  As a photographer, I begin by looking around to find the best spots with great lighting.  I’ll then show you where and how to stand, sit, or lean and help you out with what to do with your hands.  I’ll take a few shots, adjust my settings, and your pose slightly with each shot.  After a minute or two, we’ll find another spot, moving quickly, and changing outfits along the way.  We usually recommend that you bring a variety of outfits to get a variety of looks.  Outfits can include both casual and dressy options and we suggest bringing a variety of necklines as well as a variety of textures.  Accessories such as jewelry, sunglasses, hats, scarves, etc. are also a lot of fun to incorporate!  Bring whatever is truly you!

We love the emotions involved in Senior Portrait sessions!  We love hearing about college plans and get so excited for our seniors and their families as they anticipate the future!  It’s always so sweet to chat with moms throughout the session and to relate on how quickly time flies!  It’s always such a gift to be able to capture this season for them!
