St. Anthony Main | Summer Engagement

St. Anthony Main in Northeast Minneapolis is one of our favorite places both to explore and to photograph!   The atmosphere is like nowhere else in the Twin Cities and its character is unique with its cobblestone road and its historic buildings.  Walking along the Mississippi, the view of the city is at its best – especially around golden hour!  We also love the juxtaposition of both city and nature and often recommend it to couples looking for an engagement session location featuring the best of both worlds!

A few of our favorite photo spots at this location can be found in Water Power Park with it’s great views of the Mississippi River, St. Anthony Falls and of course the Minneapolis skyline.  We also love to walk along the bridges of Father Hennepin Bluff Park for views of the Stone Arch Bridge– one of our favorite Minneapolis icons.  There really aren’t many photo locations that feature a waterfall, bridges, forests of trees, brick backdrops and a view of the city skyline, all within walking distance.

After engagement sessions, we recommend taking some time to enjoy the restaurants along the river!  One of our favorites is Aster Cafe – their food is amazing and their live music makes for the best atmosphere, especially in the summer!  Hideaway Burger Bar has a great patio as well and Wilde Cafe‘s food is incredible!  If you are looking for the perfect spot to spend date-night on a summer evening, any of these spots would be amazing!

While this location is always one of our favorites, Claire and Dillon made this session absolutely EPIC!  They were so fun to work with and I love how completely in love they were!  Their chemistry and passion made photographing their relationship a breeze!  We absolutely can not wait until their wedding day!
