Marine on St. Croix | Engagement

The fall colors are finally starting to pop, just in time to provide the perfect backdrop for portraits!  We couldn’t wait for Michell and Steven’s engagement session and met at the beautiful William O’Brien State Park in Marine on St. Croix.  We had the best time chatting throughout the evening, and getting to know these two was so much fun!  They met online while living in separate states, fell in love, and their proposal story is absolutely incredible!

Steven knew he wanted to surprise Michell and planned to pop the question at a Savannah Bananas baseball game in St. Louis, Missouri.  He and Michell arrived on a warm summer day, and she had no idea what was ahead.  An official from the game told Michell that she and Steven were selected to play a “hotter-or-colder” game during that inning. They took her out to second base and blindfolded her explaining that she had to listen to the crowd cheering or booing to find her way to home plate.  She was such a great sport in playing along, and when she arrived at home plate, she took off her blindfold to find Steven down on one knee asking her to be his wife!  The crowd went wild, and their proposal went viral online!  The rest of their weekend was filled with people recognizing and congratulating them around town as they enjoyed their getaway together as fiancés.

We are beyond excited for them as they continue to plan their big day! The two will tie the knot at the beautiful Round Barn Farm Bed and Breakfast in Red Wing next fall, and they plan to visit the venue again with family this weekend.  We can’t wait to be a part of documenting their celebration, and have just over one year to go!
