There’s something magical about photographing senior portraits in the fall. The sun is lower, the air is crisp, and the colors seem to pop just a little bit more in Minnesota’s most vibrant season. For Grace’s session, we began at William O’Brien State Park surrounded by open fields that seemed to glisten in the late evening light. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. Golden hour gave us a dreamy glow that made every image feel like art.
Grace did an absolutely amazing job for photos. We loved her gorgeous smile and her white dress with the bow that caught the light beautifully as she walked through the tall grass. The combination of her classic outfits and the natural beauty of the setting created images that felt effortlessly elegant. After wrapping up in the field, we headed to Marine on St. Croix to continue the session in their charming downtown. The textures of the buildings, trees, and street added both variety and contrast to the soft, natural tones of the field. We love incorporating both nature and architecture into portrait sessions! It always gives such a well-rounded variety of backdrops that pair perfectly with the multiple outfits that seniors bring.
As the sun dipped lower, we made our way down the path to the river to end the evening. The reflections in the water and soft pastel tones in the sky were ideal for our final photos of the night. It’s always such a joy to photograph seniors who are excited about the future ahead. Grace is already taking college classes through PSEO, and we can’t wait to see what she ends up studying in the years ahead! We’re incredibly honored we could celebrate this exciting season of life with her, and we wish her all the very best for the rest of her senior year!
