Boca Grande on Gasparilla Island, Florida is one of our all-time favorite places to photograph family portrait sessions.  Not only is it an incredibly picturesque setting with its architecture and breathtaking beach, but we also love visiting the area to enjoy its shops, restaurants, and beautiful sea-side escapes. Upon arrival for Stephanie’s family session, we took some time to explore.  We were amazed at the work that has been done after this past year’s hurricanes and are grateful that the area is well on their way to full recovery.  We were thrilled to discover that some of our favorite places were back up and running again, and we were so excited for Stephanie’s family to experience the island’s unique beauty and charm as well.

After meeting on an absolutely gorgeous evening, we set off to walk the streets together.  We captured a few portraits on the iconic tree-lined Banyan Street before hitting up all of our favorite backdrop spots. It was so much fun getting to know everyone and learning that we share Iowa roots!  Stephanie’s sweet daughter did an amazing job for the session! She was all-smiles for photos, and it was an absolute joy to capture her adorable giggle as she ran, explored, and snuggled with her parents and grandparents.

We finished out the evening on the beach, and as the waves crashed along the shore, we documented yet another stunning Southwest Florida sunset.  Photographing sessions on the sandy shores of some of the state’s most beautiful beaches is such a gift.  Serving couples and families as they vacation in Florida has been a dream come true, and one we certainly don’t take for granted.  It was such a pleasure serving Stephanie’s family, and we hope they enjoy every minute of their time together in the sunshine state!
