Spring is in the air and the blooms of the trees are in full force! Spring is one of our favorite seasons for engagement sessions. There is something about spring florals that bring the perfect touch of light and airy beauty to the photos and with the daylight getting longer, golden hour has moved back into its sweet spot of evening-time. Mary and Anders couldn’t have chosen a better evening for their session. The light was perfect! These two are absolutely stunning as a couple and the beauty of the Lake Harriet area was just an accent to their already gorgeous smiles! We love it when couples bring a few outfit options and Mary’s classic black dress with the lace detail and second floral gown were both a perfect fit for this setting! Everything about them and their session was just dreamy!
Lake Harriet is just one of the many beautiful lakes in the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes. Whenever we do sessions around Lake Harriet, we love using the Lyndale Park Rose Garden. Depending on the season, the flowers change from the spring blooms of lavender, to gardenias, tulips, roses and more. The endless rows of flowers are perfect for enjoying on afternoon strolls, or you can bring a hammock or a picnic blanket and relax while you enjoy the sunshine. The garden is also a great outdoor wedding location for smaller weddings and is beautiful in any season! One of the best parts of visiting this garden is that it is free! As we finished up our session along the lakeshore, we spotted some couples kayaking, already enjoying the Minnesota lakes! There is just something about springtime when Minnesota’s residents begin to emerge back outdoors. Couples strolling through the parks and families beginning to venture outside bring such a great energy to the city!
