One of our favorite parts of photographing engagement sessions is getting to chat with our couples about wedding planning.  Sara and Mike are working with Style Architects Weddings & Events to plan their dream day, and we have no doubt it will be incredible!  They are loving how the details are all coming together, and we are now only a few weeks away from their big day!  We are beyond excited to capture their wedding, and couldn’t wait to connect with them to document a piece of their story at their engagement session in downtown Stillwater.

Getting to know our couples before their big day is so much fun, and we love it when they incorporate a bit about who they are into their session.  When Sara asked if they could get a few shots with Mike’s BMW, we were all in!  Mike had searched for that specific car for years and finally found one in Wisconsin, which also happens to be Sara’s home state!  The two had met through a friend in college, and have had all kinds of adventures together since.  They love to travel, and whether it be hiking in the mountains, or snorkeling and scuba diving down in the Caribbean, their passion for life and being with each other is so sweet.

We had the best time exploring Stillwater together, pausing at all the ivy walls and brick backdrops for portraits.  These two looked amazing, and the way that their deep green and blue colors coordinated with the shops along the buildings was perfect!  After a few photos in the street, we ended with portraits on the iconic Stillwater Lift Bridge. We absolutely love this area, and it has been such a joy to capture so many sessions surrounded by the beauty of the St. Croix Valley.
