It has been so much fun to photograph family sessions in Florida! Meeting families from all over the U.S. and documenting each season of life is always such an honor; and being able to photograph these sessions surrounded by the beauty of Southwest Florida, has been a dream come true! Bowditch Point Park could not have been a more beautiful setting for Laura’s family session. Situated at the very end of Fort Myers Beach, this breathtaking park has been the perfect place for portrait sessions. On the morning of their session, just after the sun began to rise, there were a few boats out on the water and we couldn’t resist taking out the drone to capture the gorgeous setting.
Laura and her family arrived, and had travelled from Massachusetts down to Florida to visit her parents and enjoy some family time together in the sunshine state! With the tide so low, we had plenty of beach line to explore that isn’t usually visible on the higher tide days. The kids even discovered a starfish laying on the sand within the driftwood! We used the drone for a few shots as we strolled along the beach; and much to our surprise, a pelican decided to join in the fun and flew through one of the frames!
We finished out the session with a little father/son football and caught some epic catches on camera. Laura’s daughter was adorable as she danced and twirled on the beach, and we loved her sweet smile as she snuggled with her grandma. We love documenting kids’ relationships with their parents and grandparents, and it was such an honor to capture this session for Laura and her husband as they celebrate 15 years of marriage this spring! We hope that they enjoyed an incredible family vacation!
