North Naples is home to a few of our favorite beaches including both Vanderbilt Beach and Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park. Years ago, we enjoyed lunch at The Turtle Club while soaking up the beauty of Vanderbilt Beach’s sugar-white sand. We also visited Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park, and were eager to return with our family!
Southwest Florida is an absolutely incredible destination, and one we are now thrilled to be able to call our “home away from home.” Whether you are traveling for a vacation, or in the area for a wedding, engagement, or portrait session, we have discovered a few new favorites this year, and wanted to share them with you!
Beaches we Visited: Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park – the boardwalks were the perfect spot to stop for a few family portraits. We also discovered that the promise of ice cream afterwards tends to bring out the best smiles for photos! 😉
Parking: Parking costs $6 per vehicle. There are several parking lots within the park, however, it should be noted that the park could temporarily close at times mid-morning through the afternoon on weekends due to the higher volume of visitors. We arrived during peak time to find that the park was closed; thankfully, it re-opened within the hour.
Walk to Beach: The walk from the parking lots within the park is not long but if you park across the bridge at Collier County’s Conner Park, the walk is extensive – especially when carrying gear.
Amenities: The beach does have restrooms for a place to change for your photo session. The park also has grills, a picnic area, and even a pavilion for beach weddings!
Whether you are visiting Florida on vacation, here for your destination wedding, engagement, or portrait session, or simply planning a day at the beach, we hope that these ideas are helpful as you plan your time in the beautiful sunshine state!
