We remember our first visit to Fort Myers Beach, FL like it was yesterday. At the time, we could have never imagined that one day we would be photographing destination portrait sessions in Southwest Florida, serving couples and families seasonally out of two states! We are always so grateful to connect with so many amazing families as they experience the beauty of the sunshine state. Jenny’s family had travelled down from Minnesota, and it was their kids’ very first time seeing the ocean. Documenting their reactions as they discovered the beach was such a sweet reminder of why we love what we do! The excitement on their faces as they stepped out onto the sand, hunted for shells, and chased after the birds was priceless.
Sunsets on Fort Myers Beach never disappoint, and this evening was no exception. The soft warm light created a gorgeous glowing backdrop as we captured candid moments by the water’s edge. One of our favorite things about photographing sessions at Bowditch Point Park is that it offers the perfect mix of coastal greenery and wide open shoreline. Watching Jenny’s parents run down the beach hand in hand with their giggling grandkids was definitely of the sweetest parts of the evening! We are always so grateful to capture these memories for families vacationing in Florida.
There’s something incredibly meaningful about documenting not just portraits, but experiences and the simple joys of being together. As we finished out their session, we had the best time chatting about their plans. We recommended Manatee Park and Lakes Park with the Railroad Museum of South Florida, as both are perfect for younger kids. We hope their family has an amazing time as they continue to explore the area, and that they will cherish these memories for many years to come!
