There is no greater honor than having the privilege of photographing families year after year. When Alyssa reached out to book another portrait session in Fort Myers, we were thrilled! Once again, her family had traveled down from Illinois to soak up the Southwest Florida sunshine, and it was so much fun to document their time together. We met up with her beautiful family at Bowditch Point Park, and the weather truly could not have been more perfect. Clear skies, a gentle breeze, and warm sunshine created the dreamiest backdrop for portraits.
We began their session tucked among the palm trees, capturing photos of each group. There is something especially meaningful about photographing multiple generations. Watching great-grandparents, and grandparents with their kids and grandkids soaking enjoying this short but sweet season of life together is always such a gift. We could hardly believe how much the kids had grown in just one year! As we made our way out onto the beach, the kids had a blast running, splashing, and playing in the waves, completely carefree. The water, tiny shells, and the endless stretch of sand felt simply magical, and there is nothing quite like the beach through a child’s eyes!
As we finished out the session, golden hour was absolute perfection. The sun wrapped the beach in a gorgeous warm glow, slowly shifting into soft pink and purple tones as it dipped below the horizon. Alyssa’s family chose outfits that complemented the setting flawlessly with blues, greens, browns, tans, and neutrals that blended beautifully with the sand and sea. As the sun set, we couldn’t help but reflect on how incredible it has been to photograph families in Florida. Capturing love, connection, and joy in a place as stunning as Fort Myers Beach is something we will never take for granted!
