When we met Isaac in Taylors Falls for his senior portrait session, we knew we were in for an absolutely epic evening! Not only had he brought his cello along, but it was his first time visiting one of our favorite places in Minnesota! With its dramatic cliffs set alongside the breathtaking riverfront, the St. Croix Valley is an incredible location to capture as the natural beauty of the area feels almost cinematic. The cliffs and textured rocks, the bright fall colors, and the soft light made photographing this session a dream.
We started out by capturing images of Isaac with his cello, and we loved the way the vibrant orange leaves created the perfect contrast with his classy black suit. Incorporating interests into senior portrait sessions always adds special meaning as it allows us to document a unique piece of their story and who they are in their senior year. The combination of photographing such an elegant instrument surrounded by gorgeous fall foliage made his images feel both timeless and personal.
As we walked through the paths to explore the cliffs, every turn revealed another stunning view. It was so much fun to see Isaac in awe of all of the scenery, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting for his photos. The soft light, the textures in the rocks and trees, and Isaac’s kind personality made capturing this session a breeze! The entire evening felt like one big adventure, much like the milestone it represents. Senior portraits are about so much more than great photos; they’re about documenting each unique passion and personality, while celebrating the anticipation of the years ahead. We had the best time with Isaac and his parents, and can’t wait for him to continue sharing his creativity with others in the years ahead!
