One of our favorite things about photographing engagement sessions is getting to know our couples before their wedding.  Capturing their love stories is truly such an honor, and connecting beforehand always leaves us all the more excited for their big day!  Michaela and Mike are two of the kindest people you’ll meet and a complete match made in heaven.  Michaela is a neonatal nurse, and Mike is a teacher.  Both enjoy fishing, especially on Lake Vermilion, and spending time outdoors together.  They knew they wanted a natural setting for their engagement photos, and we had no doubt that William O’Brien State Park in Marine on St. Croix would be the perfect place!

We met on the most beautiful fall evening, and set off to explore the fields.  Golden hour was like something out of a dream, and we loved the way the colors of their outfits were the perfect fit for the setting!  They brought their sweet puppy Cliff along for a few photos, and he did a phenomenal job!  Even at only nine months old, he was so well trained that he was a complete natural at posing.  We had the best time with these two, and we can hardly wait to connect again next spring!  They will tie the knot at the incredible Redeemed Farm in Scandia, and we are already counting down the days!

We had so much fun, and appreciate all your tips, tricks, and encouragement! I think Mike said like 10 times last night how much fun he had! We appreciate you so much, and are so excited to work with you at our wedding! Can’t wait to see more of your amazing work!!”
