Ever since moving to the area a few years ago, we couldn’t wait to photograph sessions in Scandia! We love using a variety of outdoor backdrops for portraits and knew the Gammelgarden Museum would be the perfect place to complement Addie’s natural beauty. Her sweet smile and personality were so much fun to capture, and the soft golden light was a complete dream for her Senior Portrait session!
We started out the session by using a few of the buildings before moving to the more natural backdrops with the trees and gorgeous fall colors. We finished up in the field, and the golden hour glow of the sunset was incredible. There is something about the texture of the tall grass at this time of year that creates such a magical backdrop for photos. Addie’s outfits could not have been more perfect, and her black, white, green, and blue hues blended beautifully with the setting.
For Senior Portrait session outfits, we recommend avoiding flashy or busy patterns that distract from the face and draw attention away from the eyes. We also advise trying on all clothing one week prior to the session to allow time for washing, ironing, and hanging clothes to prevent wrinkles. Most importantly, you want to be sure your clothing is comfortable and a fit for your unique personality and style. The goal is to wear a classic, timeless look that fits who you are. We also recommend bringing along a parent or sibling who you are comfortable with to help adjust your hair or even to just make you laugh! Addie’s parents came along for her session, and we had a blast talking and laughing together! We have loved getting to know their family and are so excited for them as Addie finishes up her senior year!
