Big Marine Park Reserve in Marine on St. Croix is stunning in any season, and it’s no surprise that it has become one of our favorite locations for portrait sessions!  Not only do its hiking trails offer endless opportunities for natural backdrops, but its lake and beach provide a gorgeous space to spend the day soaking up the warm summer sunshine. When Jayanna reached out to book a family session with fall colors, we knew it would be the perfect place!  

When we think of autumn in Minnesota, we imagine bright golden light shining through trees creating a dream setting for portraits.  The evening of Jayanna’s session far exceeded those expectations, and we were thrilled to be able to capture her beautiful family surrounded by such stunning vibrant color!  We can hardly believe it has been 10 years since we first met Jayanna and Charlie for their engagement session in Minneapolis.  We had the best time exploring the Stone Arch Bridge area together and were beyond excited for their big day!  It was an incredible honor to photograph their wedding the following year, and we had a blast celebrating with them at the Mayowood Stone Barn in Rochester.  A few years later, we met in Andover for a maternity session, followed by family sessions as their family expanded. 

We couldn’t wait to meet again to see how much their boys had grown!  We had so much fun running and playing with the leaves together that we didn’t want their session to end! It has been an absolute joy and privilege to capture this sweet family over the last decade.  Documenting life’s most exciting milestones is just one of the many reasons we love what we do, and we are so grateful to continue to serve such incredible couples and families!
