When we first visited Captiva Island nine years ago, we could have never imagined that we would one day be photographing portrait sessions on its breathtaking sandy beaches for a living.  Capturing memories for families vacationing in Florida has been a complete dream come true!  Beach sessions are absolutely gorgeous, and the perfect place for photos – especially at sunrise.  The quiet of the early morning always feels as though we are on our own secluded private island, and as the sun begins to peek through the palm trees, it provides the most beautiful soft pink and blue light for portraits.

The sun had just begun to appear over the horizon when we arrived for Lauren’s session.  It was going to be yet another beautiful day in paradise, and we couldn’t wait to connect with her sweet family again!  We had met for the first time a few years ago on Sanibel Island, and since then, Lauren and her husband have added an adorable little boy to their family.  It was so fun to capture him and his sister with their parents and grandparents, and it is always such an honor to photograph families year after year.

We began their session on the beach, and with only a handful of people out and about in the early morning hours, the session was a complete breeze to photograph!  We had the best time exploring the shoreline together, and we took a few portraits along the seagrass before returning to their family’s rental home.  As we finished out the session surrounded by lush, tropical greens, we could not have been more grateful to have been a part of documenting Lauren’s vacation again this year.  We hope that her family enjoys every single minute of soaking up their time together in sunny, Southwest Florida!
