From the moment Kerri reached out to book a destination portrait session, she was incredibly kind, and we could not wait to connect!  Her family was planning on traveling to Captiva Island to vacation at South Seas Resort, and we were so excited for their session on the beach.  The resort has done an amazing job of restoration following the hurricane, and Kerri’s family was just one of many happy visitors to return to this little slice of paradise on the Gulf coast.

The evening of their session arrived and could not have been more perfect!  The beach was absolutely breathtaking, and capturing Kerri’s family in one of their favorite places was so much fun!  The resort’s unique variety in backdrops, with its tall palm trees and greenery along the shoreline provided a dream setting for portraits. The tropical colors of the island are gorgeous no matter what the time of day.  We love both the warm hues of golden hour in the evening as well as the soft pink and blues of the sky at sunrise. 

We had the best time exploring together for this session, and the girls did amazing!  They were all-smiles and their bond as sisters was so sweet.  Their laughter and smiles were a true picture of childhood at its best, and we hope that these images are some that their family will cherish for many years to come.  Documenting memories of vacations is truly such a joy for us.  We are so excited for Kerri’s family as they soak up all of the beauty Southwest Florida has to offer, and we hope that they had a wonderful time together!  We absolutely love photographing family sessions in Florida, and we are so grateful to have captured this sweet family on the beautiful island of Captiva!
