Sanibel Island is home to some of the most incredible natural beaches in Southwest Florida. Families travel from all over the world to vacation on the island, and Meghan’s family was more than ready to take a break from the snow and cold in Vermont to enjoy some time together in the Sunshine State. We met for their session at Lighthouse Beach Park, one of our favorite places for portrait sessions, and the evening could not have been more beautiful!
From the moment Meghan reached out to book, we were really looking forward to connecting with her family. They are all incredibly kind, and it was such an honor to capture photos of her and her brother’s families along with her husband’s parents. The kids were absolutely adorable and were beyond excited to explore! When you are four, three, and one year old, the beach is pretty magical, and we had a blast exploring together! We discovered some starfish along the water’s edge, and the kids held them for a few photos before we set off to race along the sand. Capturing their sweet smiles and laughter as they ran and played with their parents and grandparents was so much fun, and it was such a gift to document this season of life for these families!
It has been said that cousins are your first childhood playmates who grow up to be forever friends, and we could not agree more! We hope that these kids grow up to be the best of friends, and that their parents will look back on these images with sweet memories of years past. It has been such a joy to photograph families as they spend time together on the beach, and we hope that Meghan’s family enjoyed every minute of their vacation in sunny, Southwest Florida!
