Sanibel Island will always hold a special place in our hearts, as it was one of the first places we visited on our first trip to Southwest Florida nine years ago. Since then, we have had the pleasure of photographing dozens of portrait sessions along its beautiful shores. The island boasts fifteen miles of beach line, and is known worldwide for both its shelling and stunning evening sunsets. We met Krista’s family on a gorgeous sun-soaked day with not a cloud in the sky. Though the temperatures were brisk, golden-hour was at its finest, and we couldn’t have had a better time capturing her family as they explored the shoreline together.
Krista’s family has been visiting the area for years now, and has enjoyed spending time on both Sanibel and Captiva Islands. We were so excited to share Bowman’s Beach with her for the first time. Even though it is one of Sanibel’s more popular beaches, with its sand stretching for miles, it is usually the least crowded and more secluded spots on the island – perfect for family portraits!
We began Krista’s session among the trees as we walked through the paths on the way out to the water’s edge. Her boys did such a great job, and it was so much fun to get a few photos of them with their grandpa! Exploring the beach is always an adventure, and capturing their smiles as they ran along the sand was a blast! We are so happy to have been able to document Krista’s love for the beach, and we ended the evening with one of the most breathtaking sunsets ever! Getting to photograph families on the shores of Southwest Florida has been such a gift, and we can’t wait to continue connecting with many more families here for years to come!
