To say that we are grateful that Bowditch Point Park is back open again is an understatement! We are so thankful to be back exploring Fort Myers‘ beaches, shops, and restaurants, and are so happy to see vacationers returning to the area once again. Though there is certainly still much to do, overall, we are amazed at the progress made on the island of Fort Myers Beach as they continue to recover from Hurricane Ian. When Chelsea reached out last fall to book a portrait session on the beach, we were thrilled! She and her family were traveling down from Maryland to stay at the Pink Shell Beach Resort, and we were so excited for them to enjoy their stay right on the beach.
There is definitely no shortage of adventures on this beach, and over the last few years it has become one of our favorite places to photograph family portraits. We began Chelsea’s session by walking through the trails, and we finished out on the shore. There is something about photographing kids as they explore the beach that makes doing what we do so much fun! From watching a Pirate Ship sail by, to climbing on driftwood, to the surprise discovery of starfish in the water, we had a blast at this session!
It was such a joy to connect with Chelsea’s family. Their kids are about as sweet as they come, and they did a fabulous job of smiling for photos! We closed out their session as they ran splashing through the waves, and we had the best time capturing their laughter and smiles. We chatted about their plans to go out to eat and to try out some mini golfing before they leave, and we are so thankful to have been able to document memories of their vacation together!
