There is something about golden hour on a gorgeous fall evening that gets us so excited for engagement sessions!  The way the light shines through the brightly colored trees creates an absolute dream setting, perfect for capturing all of the joy that the season of being engaged brings.  Lara and Mike are such a sweet couple, and we couldn’t wait to photograph their session in the fields of William O’Brien Park, just up the road from where their wedding will take place next fall.

When we first connected with Lara, we discovered that she and Mike fly down to the Naples and Marco Island area to visit family multiple times each year.  It is always so much fun to connect with couples who share our love of SW Florida!  As an engineer, Mike occasionally travels for work, but these two love to travel together as well!  They recently flew out to New York to watch the Buffalo Bills win their game.  As an avid football fan, Mike proposed in Indiana while he was in town for a Notre Dame game.  Being in Lara’s home state, he had a friend of hers set things up so he could surprise her, and the two celebrated with family afterwards. 

They are now planning their wedding, with their ceremony at Saint Michael’s and their reception at the JX Venue in Stillwater.  We are just under one year away, and we can’t even wait to capture their big day!  If the beauty of their engagement session is any indication of what their wedding will be like, we know we are in for an absolutely incredible day!  As we finished out the evening together, Lara and Mike set off to enjoy dinner in downtown Stillwater to celebrate their last year of the sweet season as fiancé’s.
