Senior year such an exciting season of life, and we are always incredibly honored to photograph senior portrait sessions! One of our favorite locations for portrait sessions is in downtown Anoka as there are endless options for a wide variety of backdrops with both brick and natural surroundings.  Our ultimate goal is to capture your style and personality within a beautiful setting, while making each session feel relaxed and fun.  Both Caleb and Garrett totally rocked their sessions, and their kind smiles and fun personalities absolutely shined through their photos.  Both evenings had perfect soft light, and we couldn’t have had more gorgeous fall weather to work with!

We photograph nearly all of our portrait sessions in natural light to produce clean, bright, fresh, and timeless images. We schedule most of our sessions one or two hours before sunset which usually works great for working around sports practice or school activities.  The sun sets earlier during the colder months of the year and much later in the warmer months, so the timing of each session is unique depending on the season.

We are most often asked our advice on outfits for portrait sessions, and for colors, neutrals and soft tones work best. When selecting clothing, we recommend choosing a variety while avoiding anything too flashy or distracting with strong prints.  We also encourage seniors to bring items that showcase their interests.  Incorporating sports equipment or an instrument is the perfect way to document this season of life.  We know that the talents and achievements of seniors are a huge part of their lives, and we love including those aspects of who they are in their images.  Our hope is that as they look back on their photos years from now they will remember high school as some of the best years of their life!
