It’s no secret that we love photographing weddings, and celebrating with our couples’ friends and families on their special day is so much fun! When their family members then reach out years later to book their own wedding, it is always such an honor! Erik’s sister gave us such a kind referral, and we were so grateful when Dana and Erik inquired about their wedding date. We can’t wait to be a part of their big day, and are so excited to capture it in all its winter beauty!
With their wedding taking place during the winter season, we love the variety that a summer engagement session brings to their photos. We met Dana and Erik in downtown Anoka on a gorgeous warm evening, and we couldn’t have had more breathtaking golden hour light to work with. Anoka is one of our favorite locations for sessions with its wide variety of urban brick backdrops as well as its natural scenery. Situated alongside the Rum and Mississippi Rivers, it’s truly the best of both worlds within a short walking distance. We began the session among the buildings and streets, and then moved to the trees for portraits near the river.
Dana and Erik are such a sweet couple, and both looked absolutely amazing in their classy outfits and their white and neutral colors. We have had such a great time getting to know these two, and loved their engagement story. They were attending a friend’s birthday party in Stillwater, MN and took a walk together. After crossing over the bridge to Wisconsin, Erik proposed to Dana in her home state! The two will host their family and friends this winter at the Como Zoo and Conservatory, and we are already counting down the days until we get to document their beautiful wedding!
