Reconnecting with our wedding couples as their families have grown has been so much fun, and we were so excited for Shauna’s family session at William O’Brien State Park! After dodging an unexpected rain storm, we set off to explore the fields to capture family portraits. We had the best time together, and can hardly believe how quickly time has flown.
We first met Shauna and Robb in 2014 when we photographed their engagement session in St. Paul. The following year we celebrated with their family and friends at their incredible fall wedding! Shauna’s dress was absolutely breathtaking, and her portraits on the steps of the St. Paul Library are still some of our favorites! We reconnected with them again in the winter of 2019 in downtown Minneapolis to capture the newest addition to their family – their precious baby girl. It was such an honor to document that sweet season for them. The following year, we met in Andover to photograph their daughter in a wildflower field with her stuffed bear by her side. She has since added a little sister to her family, and this year, when we saw that the girls had brought along matching stuffed bunnies to their session, we couldn’t wait to recreate some of the same images three years later. Little did we know that we would have the perfect field of purple wildflowers to continue that tradition!
The girls were so adorable as they explored the field together, and we photographed endless smiles as they picked flowers and snuggled their bunnies. In capturing this short-but-sweet life stage, we hope that as they continue to grow they look back on these images with the same smiles remembering this season of life all those years ago. And THAT is why we truly love what we do.
