Downtown Stillwater is one of our favorite places in the Twin Cities. We can’t get enough of this area, especially when the days are warm, and we are able to soak up every minute of late evening light! We arrived downtown on a beautiful summer evening, and the light was absolutely ideal for Alexa and Jeremy’s engagement session. We began along the St. Croix River and set off to explore.
The classic red Mercedes Benz convertible that they brought along, along with Alexa’s touch of elegance in her accessories, including her bouquet of flowers and her new black shoes from Paris, gave this session such a sophisticated look! Alexa and Jeremy love to travel and had recently returned from a trip to Europe. We had the best time chatting as we strolled the streets of Stillwater and stopped to take photos with the trolley, ivy walls, and the brick backdrops of some of our favorite spots, including the Freight House. Their outfits were coordinated to perfection, and we are completely swooning over the way their colors and tones worked within every setting!
One of the many reasons we love this area is that it provides such a wide variety in backdrops around every corner. The iconic Stillwater Lift Bridge and the river give both a natural and unique setting. As an added bonus, Stillwater also has countless textured wood and brick backdrops. We finished up the session among the brick and stone and ended the evening with a few shots by a gorgeous ivy wall! These two are such a stunning couple, and we are beyond excited for their wedding at the Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska next summer! They plan to also take photos at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, and we know their big day will be absolutely breathtaking!
