Interstate State Park | Engagement

The short but sweet season of being engaged is such an honor to document!  Though the time spent as a fiancé before becoming a spouse is not long, it is one of the most significant and special seasons of life.  It is filled with excitement and joyful anticipation as the wedding planning begins, and it is a season to look back on with fond memories for many years to come.  To be able to “freeze time” by capturing this milestone for our couples is a privilege that we do not take for granted!

When Emily’s mom reached out to us to see if we were available to photograph Emily and Scott’s engagement session, we were so grateful.  We had known Emily’s mom for years, and were so thankful for her inquiry and kind words, and were excited to connect with Emily and Scott!  These two love hiking together and spending time in the great outdoors; so we knew that Taylors Falls would be the perfect place to photograph their session.  They also love to travel and had just returned from vacation before we met.  We dodged a bit of rain, and ended up moving their session to a gorgeous and sunny fall evening.

We had the best time together as we explored the rock cliffs along the St. Croix River.  They completely rocked their session, and after sending a few sneak peeks, we received this sweet email from them: “We had so much fun working with you last night! We were both nervous going in, so thank you for making us feel comfortable. WOW I am so in love!! These are incredible! Can’t wait to see the rest!”  We are so humbled by their kind words, and are beyond excited for them as they plan their upcoming destination wedding in Mexico!
