The American Swedish Institute, with its historic, castle-like mansion, contemporary reception hall, and classic, romantic courtyard, is an absolutely incredible wedding venue. With its breathtaking views, and its modern Nelson Cultural Center, it was the perfect place to host Jackie and Chris’ dream wedding. Their day was filled with endless laughter and sweet moments, and was beautifully coordinated by Nicole of Bellagala.
The morning began at Elliot Park Hotel in Minneapolis where the ladies were preparing for the day with the talented Primped on hair and makeup. Jackie put on her stunning Lis Simon gown from Effie’s Bridal Trunk just before stepping outside for her first look with Chris. Total Transportation brought us to the Hewing Hotel for wedding party portraits on the rooftop. The ladies looked amazing in their Bill Levkoff bridesmaid dresses with their bouquets from Maria Brosofske, and the men in their suits from Generation Tux. We stopped at Mill City and the Stone Arch Bridge and arrived at the American Swedish Institute just in time for family photos. This group of friends and family are so much fun together, and we had the best time exploring the grounds and the mansion’s incredible spaces for portraits.
The ceremony began with string quartet music as guests were seated overlooking the Turnblad Mansion Veranda. Jackie and Chris exchanged vows and celebrated with family and friends in the courtyard for cocktail hour. Guests gathered for the reception in the Larson Hall with dinner by Slate & Stone, speeches, and a delicious array of desserts by Angel Food Bakery. The evening ended with dancing with Instant Request and a stunning sparkler exit! Jackie and Chris, it was such an honor to capture your breathtaking wedding! Your day was absolutely amazing, and we hope your honeymoon in Bora Bora was every bit as beautiful!
